What is it? According to the description on their site, the 7mm thick Bear KompleX Knee Sleeves, “will provide the best in support and compression while performing a variety of exercises including: Squats, Power Cleans, Snatches, Box Jumps, Lunges, Running, Double Unders, and more.” They can also help to reduce pain from injury and help increase blood flow.
What do I think? These things are tight. I tried out a pair of both the medium and large sizes. I don’t have the biggest legs ever so my instinct was that the medium would be the way to go. Those were so tight that I couldn’t even get them on. The large ones felt just fine and I ended up keeping those. I like these a lot because they are so fitted. The snug feeling helps keep me confident that I can go to full depth on squats and cleans and have the support I need to pop back up. Because they are tight, I would recommend using them for a workout that has a lot of different movements.
Why do you need it? If you are looking for sturdy knee sleeves with a snug fit, these could be the end to your search. They don’t cost as much as some of the “big name” sleeves, but that doesn’t mean they are cheap, just affordable and good quality.
When should you use it? Squatting, powerlifting, Olympic lifts and lunges are the movements that I like the most for these. You can wear them for any CrossFit workout. But because they were tighter than I was used to, I didn’t like them much if we had to run or row or do double-unders in them.
How do you get it? The best place to get Bear KompleX Knee Sleeves is from their website. While you are there, look around at all their products. The Knee Sleeves retail for $39.98.
