What do I think? My first thought out of the box was that these are great looking shoes. While wearing them, I even had multiple men approach me to ask what they were. Tough luck, guys! What I noticed immediately when I put them on, was that they seemed a bit too large in the toe. I considered exchanging them, but as soon as I tied them up they felt fine. If I were to get another pair though, I would definitely order a half size down. They also felt pretty stiff and made a noise near the toe area with each step, but the noise stopped completely after about an hour in them. I’d probably attribute that to them being a touch too large. As far as workouts in them, they feel pretty similar to the Nano 5’s but slimmer, and with the added neoprene collar lining they feel more secure around the ankle.
Why do you need it? If you’re looking for a narrower toe box with a similar feel to the Nano 5’s, give these a try. It’s also nice to see a women’s shoe that doesn’t necessarily look like a women’s shoe. The Seaside Grey and Lilac Ash colors do cater to women that prefer more feminine colors, but for someone that isn’t really into the pinks and pastels typically seen in women’s shoes, I’m a big fan of the Skull Grey color.
When should you use it? These are great for pretty much any workout with the exception of running a distance over 800m. They’re lightweight and have a flat sole that’s perfect for lifting WODs. The only downside is the light material makes them easy to get dirty.
